Snowstorm in Las Vegas

On arrival day of a national sales meeting for 3,000 people in Las Vegas, a major snowstorm hit the Northeastern United States. After a year of planning and a week of product installations at the hotel, a quarter of the participant attendance was put in jeopardy as most airports in the Northeast began to shut down.

Morley immediately began contacting the 600 affected travelers by utilizing the Morley client registration database that was available on site. Morley travel agents, also on location, began contacting attendees via telephone and e-mail and rebooking their air by using departure airports in cities not yet affected by the storm.

Participants were able to call the program's toll-free number listed in their original travel registration information and contact Morley in Las Vegas. This number had been automatically transferred to Morley program headquarters in Las Vegas at the start of the program. Due to the snowstorm, Morley was now manning this program headquarters number on a 24-hour basis. In all, only 100 of the passengers could not attend the meeting. As a follow-up to the storm, Morley was able to negotiate a cancellation waiver for the unused rooms and food and beverage at the hotel.
