Citizenship

The Morley vision reflects our associates' deep desire to enhance the communities in which we live, work and do business. Nowhere is this better displayed than in the thousands of hours that our associates annually commit to worthwhile causes through the humanitarian efforts of our Vision Team. Each year, our associates identify ways in which to be a positive force in the world, and their colleagues respond by donating their time – in and out of work – to make our communities better places in which to live.

Spirit of Service

We pride ourselves on the high level of service we provide to our global clientele, but some of the best work we do is right here in our own communities. Through the Morley Vision Team, associates are given many opportunities to volunteer their time and talents.

Some projects are annual endeavors, such as volunteering at the East Side Soup Kitchen; food, blood and toy drives; American Cancer Society's Relay for Life; the Junior League Festival of Trees; and other events.

Additional projects are initiated to address unexpected needs. For example, the Vision Team operated quick and effective fundraisers for the Red Cross effort to aid Hurricane Katrina victims. Another special project involved funding a smoke detector program for a local fire department in memory of a family that was killed in a house fire.

Honored to be Honored

Our spirit of service was recently recognized as the Saginaw County Chamber of Commerce honored Morley with its Corporate Community Service Award.

The Making of a Landmark

A group of associates wanted to get involved in helping the local children's zoo in some way. Through our Vision Team, we identified a project that would not only achieve the zoo's objective, but do it in a fun, creative way.

The zoo was in the process of renovating its grounds and asked us to paint a few sheds. We took it a step further and designed, painted and installed a set of cityscape murals that depict local landmarks from the past and present.

Adopt-A-School

In honor of the original Morley family who donated land to build a local elementary school, we established our own adopt-a-school program. Through this program we have enjoyed an ongoing relationship with a local inner-city school to provide volunteers and funding that would positively impact students and teachers alike.

Throughout the school year, our associates visit Houghton Elementary School every week acting as mentors for the children. Many Morley associates are READ Buddies, who work with a group of first graders for an hour each week on reading skills.

Our ever-popular holiday card contest remains a school favorite. Each student creates artwork for submission, and we use the winning piece to create our holiday card that is sent to friends and clients throughout the world. The winning student and the top artist in each class receive a savings bond, and the teacher of the winning student receives a gift card for classroom supplies.
